The Department of Medicine, Translational Bioinformatics and Cancer Systems Biology Laboratory (Director: Dr. Aik Choon Tan) in the Division of Medical Oncology has an opening for a full-time Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in Next-Generation Sequencing Bioinformatics at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado USA. We are looking for a talented, energetic, highly motivated individual to work on developing computational and statistical algorithms for the analysis and interpretation of next-generation sequencing datasets (e.g. ChIP-seq, RNA-seq). The position will be jointly supervised by Dr. Aik Choon Tan, Dr. Xiao-Jing Wang (Director, Head & Neck Cancer Program) and Dr. Qinghong Zhang (Department of Dermatology). The research fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate with cutting-edge oncology research groups at the University of Colorado Cancer Center and with biostatisticians at the University of Colorado School of Public Health. Primary duties will include but will not be limited to the design and implementation of algorithms to map, annotate, integrate and organize data generated by next generation sequencing instruments, for use in downstream statistical analyses and validation. Duties will also include data-mining on other high-throughput data sets and preparation of figures and manuscripts. Minimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a PhD in one of these fields of study: computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics or related fields.
