Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately in Dr. Zhongming Zhao’s Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Laboratory (BSBL, http://bioinfo.mc.vanderbilt.edu/) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The successful candidates are expected to join a diverse bioinformatics team and work on projects in cancer or other complex diseases using systems biology and other bioinformatics approaches. Analysis of genome-wide and high throughput data is expected. The ongoing projects in the lab used the data from microarray gene expression, GWAS, microRNA, CNVs, chip-sequencing, and 454 sequences. The fund is available for up to three years for each position. The qualified candidates should be highly motivated in research and have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, molecular biology, or related when the job starts. Senior post-doctoral fellows on track to faculty position are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate should have some experience in analyzing high-throughput genomic data and proved skills in at least one programming language (Perl, Java, or C/C++). Good understanding of molecular biology and familiarity with biostatistics are desirable.
